As parents, we know the exhaustion, the worry, and the helplessness that come when our little ones fall sick. We’ve lived it firsthand. KidVitals was born out of our own struggles as parents of two boys—now 2 and 8 years old—who, like all kids, have faced their fair share of illnesses.

For years, we tried our best to keep track of their fevers, symptoms, and medications. But between the sleepless nights and the stress of tending to a sick child, our notes would end up scattered—written hastily on scraps of paper, buried in our phone’s Apple Notes app, or lost in the chaos of everyday life. And every time we visited the pediatrician, we found ourselves struggling to recall the timeline of symptoms, the exact dosages of medicine, or when their fever had last spiked.

But everything changed when our older son—then 7 years old—was struck with a relentless case of norovirus. It started like any other stomach bug, but quickly spiraled into something far worse. Days of persistent fever, non-stop vomiting, and dehydration left him weak and helpless. We did everything we could, but despite our best efforts, we found ourselves rushing to the hospital, where he was hooked up to an IV to keep him hydrated. It was a moment of fear, frustration, and overwhelming exhaustion—one that no parent should have to face alone.

That experience was our wake-up call. We realized that parents like us needed a better way to track their children’s health in real time, organize symptoms, and build a clear medical timeline—so that when it mattered most, we’d have everything we needed at our fingertips.
